i’m a self-taught artist with a background in design, currently living on the sunshine coast in queensland, australia

my work is inspired by the beautiful coastal environment i live in: the shimmer of light on water, a distant storm at sea, the play of shadows in the rainforest

it is also influenced by seasonal changes & more recently the effects of rainstorms, flooding & bushfires

my work is mostly abstract, drawing on observations & memories to convey a particular mood or feeling

i’m drawn to simplicity & my work is evocative rather than representational

i also like to experiment with different media & tools to create contrasting textures & tonal effects

my work is experimental so i’m constantly learning & evolving
